Here at Totally Degu Towers we have homed rescue Degus for many years and have a large amount of experience when it comes to using, cleaning, and positioning our products. Below are the things we have learnt which should help you to maximise the use (and so enjoyment) of all our great products. So here is our Totally Degu product guide.
The Totally Degu product guide for Shelves
Cleaning
Our products are made from natural jute material and recycled cardboard. They are designed to be chewed, but they also can get dirty. We have found that during a cage clean just spraying a little pet safe disinfectant on the surface and leaving to dry will get rid of any smell.
Tip
Worn or dirty on top of the shelf? Just turn it over and use the clean underside to double the lifespan.
Positioning
Rodents like a clear path around the cage. You can notice the preferred route by observation. When you change the cage layout or add products to it, be careful not to block these routes. Rodents will chew away at any obstacles in their way – shortening the lifespan of cage accessories.
Broken Ropebridge?
Degus eaten through your ropebridge? Not to worry, you can use the fixings and individual parts as steps and platforms for a new layout.

Treats
Our treats are to be used as a training aid or occasional treat and should not be a part of their normal diet.
Although Chinchillas are related to Degus, they have very different dietary requirements and as such our treats are not suitable for them.
